Academy Award Fun
Yesterday was the 93rd Academy Awards where the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences spend one night recognizing the best achievements in the movie industry. As you know, I’m a big believer in bringing in outside events and turning them into school activities. So why not have some Academy Award fun this week?
Here are a few ideas on how to bring the Academy Awards into your school.
- Host your own Academy Awards competition with these quick steps, Directions-Host-Your-Own-Academy-Awards
- Have students select one of the nominees for Best Makeup and Hairstyling and then recreate the look on a mannequin head.
- Give students the option to students select one movie star who attended the awards show and recreate their Academy Award look (hair, makeup, and nails).
- Let students choose one nominee from the Best Actor/Actress category and have them create their character’s look from the movie they were nominated for.
Make it a competition or simply have some fun one afternoon in the student salon!
