Here’s some of your most frequently asked questions about MindTap for you to reference as you make the transition to distance learning.
How do I
know what activities will log time on the weekly detailed hourly reports I
requested?
All
activities in the Learning Path will be logged for time. Instruct students only
to complete activities in the Learning Path.
Please
note: time spent in the downloadable eBook, apps dock and mobile app will NOT
be recorded. Inactive hours in MindTap will NOT be logged.
What
information will the detailed hourly reports provide?
The detailed
hourly reports include two viewing options in the Excel document. The ‘Report View’
tab includes an overview of all time, and gives you the ability to filter the
dates to view. The ‘Activity Log’ tab provides detailed activity in a logged
format for each student.
Do I have
to build or customize my course?
No. When you
create a course for the discipline you teach, the course is ready to use with reading
assignments, activities, videos and assessments!
How will
I know when my students have completed an assignment?
The
Gradebook will allow you to keep your finger on the pulse of your students’
activities and when they complete them. Visit the Gradebook tab by selecting ‘Open
Gradebook’ on your MindTap dashboard next to the Learning Path.
How much
time can my learners spend in the Learning Path per day, and can I lock them
out of it when it’s after school hours?
Please refer
to your state guidelines.
How do I
communicate with my learners?
We recommend
using the email feature inside the Gradebook to email your students. Some
schools are using teleconferencing tools like Zoom, Skype, etc. Please refer to
your state guidelines on required communication with your students.
