As an educator, we want to inspire our students and help them achieve success. To do that, we must get to know them. Knowing our students is so much more than knowing their name and what program they are enrolled in.
It is important that I point out that I’m not talking about becoming their friend. We must maintain a professional relationship with our students always. We don’t want to share our personal drama with them. You will create more problems and challenges by becoming friends with your students, rather than maintaining a professional relationship.
What we need to do as educators are know who they are and why they came to our school. What are their goals and dreams? What inspires them? What are they interested in learning about? How do they learn?
It’s important to know what the student expects in our schools and what they want for their future. This way, when we see behavior out of them that is contrary to their future, we can hold them accountable for what they said they wanted!
In the same way, it is important that our team at Milady knows our customers. We work hard to understand the students in our industry, how they learn, what they want to learn and so much more.
In addition to the students, it is also important that we understand you the educator. What tools do you want and need to support you in providing outstanding education? What are your goals and dreams as an educator? Why did you become an educator? What challenges do you face in the classroom? When we know this information, we can then create better tools and products that will help make your job easier in the school.
So, we would like your help in knowing you better. Our team has created a survey to help us understand educators better. The survey can be completed anonymously and your specific answers will not be released to anyone. We are simply looking to create a generic profile of the Master Educator.
If you have a few free minutes, we would love you to complete the survey found here:
Thank you so much for your help!
