Do you have students in your class who always seem to be talking? Students who always seems to know what is going on and knows the moods of the whole school? Chances are, this student is an Interpersonal Learner.
Strengths of the Interpersonal Learner
- An interpersonal learner has a natural ability to work well with other people.
- They understand people and can relate to others, noticing their moods, motivations and feelings.
- They can persuade others, get along with others, influence others, be peacemakers and can see things from other people’s point of views.
How Do They Learn?
They learn best by working in groups and talking things out with others. Group work is essential for an interpersonal learner.
This learner will enjoy:
- Team activities
- Group discussions
- Small group activities
- Role playing
- Peer coaching
- Student mentoring
Anything that allows them to work with other students, working through problems or discussing what they are learning is going to be appealing to this type of learner. Additionally, this learner will want as much one-on-one time with the educator as they can get.
The good news about this learner is that our industry is perfect for them. The beauty and wellness industry is a people industry and they love working with people! They have great communication skills and will put any client they work with at easy. The goal will be to keep them focused on what they are doing and not get sidetracked in their conversations.
