With the craziness of the coronavirus the last three months, I have not been sharing national celebration days with you. To get back to something semi-normal, here are the national days for June that you might want to have some fun with at your school or at home if you are distance learning.
June 1st – National Nail Polish Day. Have everyone show off their favorite polish color today at school or in your virtual classroom. If you are back in the student salon, offer discounts on nail polish retail.
June 1st – National Say Something Nice Day. Make this day special for everyone by saying something nice to each person you encounter. If you’re spending the day at home, FaceTime or call a friend telling them how much you appreciate them.
June 5th – National Doughnut Day. Start the day right and grab your favorite doughnut before starting work.
June 6th – National Higher Education Day. Give a shout-out to the importance of higher education on your social media pages. Remind your followers that the beauty and wellness industry is a great opportunity for pursuing higher education.
June 8th – National Best Friends Day. If you are back in your school, allow each student to offer a student salon discount to their best friend! If you are still distance learning, encourage your students to reach out to their best friend and see how they are doing during these times.
June 10th – National Iced Tea Day. For an afternoon treat, have iced tea available for students and clients. Make sure to follow all COVID-19 safety requirements. If you’re still at home, treat yourself to an afternoon walk or break with an iced tea in hand.
June 11th – National Making Life Beautiful Day. Hold a discussion with your students on how they have an opportunity to make their client’s life beautiful each day.
June 19th – National Flip-Flop Day. Get everyone’s toes flip-flop ready by offering pedicure specials during the week leading up to today. If you’re at home, have your students practice pedicuring on someone they live with to help get them flip-flop season ready.
June 21st – National Selfie Day. Whether you are in schools or at home, give all the students time to get their hair, makeup and nails looking fab for National Selfie Day. Encourage students to take a selfie and post to their social media accounts, tagging your school.
June 29th – National Camera Day. Encourage students to use their cameras today by taking before and after photos of all their work.
June 30th – National Social Media Day. Have students share their favorite before and after photos from yesterday (National Camera Day) and post your students’ work to the school’s social media pages.
