If you haven’t heard of Flipgrid yet, Flipgrid is a digital resource to keep your students engaged while learning new skill sets. It provides students with a social learning experience, after all, today’s learners are very social and are connected to the social aspects of technology daily. So, why not use the same concept to your advantage in the classroom and within the student salon.
Flipgrid allows students to connect with the new material, by interacting with their instructors, and their classmates. Personally, I like it because it provides every student a voice and a place where they can share their ideas while learning new material together, hence the “social” aspect. Flipgrid will bring the back row of students to the front and engage all of your students.
The concept behind Flipgrid is quite simple it allows students to engage with content while utilizing something many students are quite familiar with, their smart devices. The instructor creates a “grid” that’s your classroom, you add a topic to spark discussions, and your students share short video responses to ignite dialogue. Simple, right? However, as simple as it sounds it is a powerful learning tool that speaks to today’s learners.
The great news is Flipgrid offer educators a free version and the process to register is as simple:
Get Started!
#1: Create a free teacher account at flipgrid.com
#2: Create a grid – A grid is your classroom. Name it after your class and set the security settings.
