Over the past few weeks, I have spent a great deal of time discussing going paperless in the classroom with many educators, just like yourself.
More than likely you have already begun going paperless in your personal lives. You probably are finding that you have more time, you’re more organized and accomplishing those day-to-day tasks more efficiently. Perhaps you’re finding your home office is more organized and have fewer stacks of papers cluttering up your desk. So, why not go paperless in your classroom?
I have never met an educator that didn’t want to be more organized, have more time with their students and streamline their day either in the classroom or student salon. So, with, I’m going to challenge you to think about what it would be like if you sent paperless in your classrooms. Think about all the paper documents you currently use in school, from classroom handouts, school documents, exams, homework assignments, etc.
Now, imagine what your world would look like if you went paperless in your classrooms. What would it look like? Would you have more time to spend with your students, rather than running to the copy machine, passing out papers, and collecting those papers? Do you think you would be more organized? Save time? The answer to these questions is yes!
But, where and how do you begin going paperless? It starts with you! Identifying all of the items you are currently using in paper form and analyzing can these items become digital?
My challenge to you is to create a list of all paper documents that you use and place a check next to the items that you potentially could streamline into a digital document. Such as your school’s handbook, product knowledge sheets, client consultation scripts, tests, homework assignments and the list goes on and on.
Now, you’re ready to begin the process. You are one step closer to go paperless, keep your eye open for my next blog where I dive deeper into helpful solutions to going paperless.
