As you know, I’m all for finding different ways to bring some fun into our classrooms.
The challenge is that we don’t always have time to do it. Instructors are so busy with day-to-day activities, it is hard to find time to get creative. I like to help from time to time and give you a fun activity or game that you can use in your classroom. Hope you enjoy this one!
Tuesday, November 19th is National Monopoly Day. Who didn’t love playing this game as a kid? I think there is some fun to be had in our school with this game to let everyone enjoy National Monopoly Day.
You can allow students to play during downtime as a small group, or you can play as a class. You can even turn it into a review game.
What you will need to do is go buy a Monopoly game. I’d stick with the original game and none of the spin-offs. New games aren’t that expensive, or you can watch the local thrift stores and garage sales to see if you can find some even cheaper.
You’ll need the game for the Monopoly money and the property cards. Past that, we are going to make a few tweaks. Take a look at the attached PDF, and it will tell you what you need to do to have some fun on National Monopoly Day!
As always, try it out and tweak it where you need to in order to fit your program.
That’s it! You are all set.
Have some fun.
